Why does Outlook Express end connection?

When I open Outlook Express to read my news groups, my Internet connection
is terminated and a box pops up for me to connect again. Why is this
happening and how do I stop this action?

OE, tools menu, Accounts, highlight account, Properties, Connection tab,
uncheck the box and let IE share the connection with OE.
