why does my banner ad not work - I followed the directions

I am trying to set up an ad banner that will cycle through several pictures -
only way I can find in Fpage to do a straight, automatic slide show. I have
followed the directions WORD FOR WORD about a dozen times now AND IT STILL
ONLY SHOWS A GRAY BOX in either browser preview or after uploading to the
web!!! I do get the first photo I load up on the page BEFORE I load to web
or preview but only gray there.

Is it, by any chance a java applet? If so you don't want to use it. Search
for a java script (not the same thing) at www.dynamicdrive.com Or maybe you
named it 'banner' and your blocking program has blocked it ...

The Banner Ad Manager uses a Java Applet to function. New installations of
IE6 and Windows XP do not have a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed,
without which the Java Applet will not run.
This applies to you, and to all your site viewers.

A JVM can be obtained from www.java.com if you want to proceed with using
Java.
