Why does language keep changing?

B

Brett

Sometimes in OE, the text I'm typing appears in Arabic or Russian. I have
to close/reopen OE before English appears again. These are two of the
langauges I've loaded via the Regional component in control panel. I set
the language icon to appear near the clock so I could switch between those
languages and English. I have since made the langauge icon stop appearing
near the clock and don't use those language anymore. Randomly in OE, I
still see the languages engage while I'm typing. How do I stop this from
occuring or how can I unload them from the Regional component?

Thanks,
Brett

Brett,

Open the Regional and Language Options in the Control Panel, click the
Languages tab, click the Details button ... click once on the language
you'd like removed and click the Remove button. Click Apply, OK, then
Apply, OK again.

Check in at Windows Update manually (IE Tools>Windows Update). Allow the
initial scan to complete then select Custom Install.

In the resulting window, click on 'Install optional software updates' in
left pane.

In that resulting window, select 'Cumulative Update for Outlook Express -
KB887797' and install it. One of the fixes in this update addresses
problems with non-European languages in OE6/WinXP SP2. It may be the fix
for you.
