why do my outgoing messages have a notepad attachment?

I had to delete and re-do my email account in outlook. Now all my outgoing
messages have a notepad attachment (not seen in my "sent" folder, but on
arrival it's there). How can I get rid of this?

you mean a *.txt attachment? What is it called?

It's called: msg-30983-4781.txt , and when I open it, the body of the
message is there, on notepad.
