Who's dialing my phone?

Something keeps trying to dial out from my computer. I've gone through
and checked or unchecked everything I can find that might be causing it,
with no effect.

There's an option in Internet Options I have set to "Never dial out." My
dialer is set to only dial upon demand. I thought my anti-virus program
was dialing for updates, but it kept happening when I completely shut that
down. Somewhere (can't find it now) I found place to tell M$ to stop
updating stuff automatically.

This craziness keeps going off during phone conversations. Any
suggestions where to find the culprit. (I do know something keeps
resetting some of my choices to auto this or that.)

The problem is your dialer is setup to dial upon demand. Many Windows
processes try to setup a network connection at some point; so, the best
thing to do would be to set your dialer to manual.

Thanks. I run AVG 8, updated and run several times a day, Ad-Aware
updated regularly and run daily, various registry cleaners (primarily
Registry Booster 2) every few days.
