| Any room for me down thar where the sun shines?

Brrrrrrrrrrrr .... Ugly Cold Wet White Stuff !!!!

Come on down, but no guarantees of cool temperatures
here in Phoenix until November ...

We're watching the AZ weather for a cool down. We spent a week
in the Tucson area last fall and plan to checkout Sierra Vista
sometime this month. My wife was born on the OR high desert
and we're looking forward to leaving this TN humid climate.
Read the other day your avg humidity is 18%, this morning we
were at the usual 93%.

For the duration of Swen, my address is inoperative.

Cousin Bob ....

I just checked my official South-Side-Phoenix-in-the-Shade
thermometer at 4pm today, the temp is 98°F, and one of
the local TV stations says the humidity is 16% ....

98°F sounds probably sounds smokin' hot to anyone else
not familar with the weather here, but due to the low humidity
it's actually quite pleasant in the shade ....

SierraVista looks a bit cooler ....

I was born and raised in Texas, then moved up to the mountains
in southwest Virginia for about 7 years, then on to San Juan,
Puerto Rico for a little over 3 years before moving
here to Phoenix ...

I don't miss ANYTHING about the cold
or the drippy-wet humidity at all ....

Good luck with your relocation endeavors
and if it happens, welcome to Arizona !!!!

Who among us are so hard core they use all Freeware? (Except the OS, of
course.)

I suppose I'm closer than I realized. I use IE/Avant Browser as a browser,
Pegasus Mail for e-mail, Xnews for Usenet (though it's no longer in
development, unfortunately), IrfanView for viewing and minor graphics
editing, WordTabs for RTFs and some plain-text operations, Windows Media
Player, RealOne (gak!), Winamp 2.7x, Trillian 0.74 (soon to be Trillian
Lite) and Miranda IM, Ares for file-sharing (the only one that'll work with
my university's LAN), WASTE for P2P sharing, Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D,
Zetris, PacPC2, etc. Not too bad.
