Out of the 3 in all honesty I would use Firefox. I have been using FF 4.0 Beta 6 for a bit now and have absolutely no problems at all :thumb:

A few days back I had created a thread with exactly the same problem so you might want to check it out here.

I have checked the .adr file

There is absolutely no record of any bookmarks being stored in it either, even my backup one
It's like something has searched for them and deleted the contents

I am frigging furious there was a lot of important bookmarks there

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I assume rebooting or System Restore hasn't brought them back.

Gutting.... :(

I take it you have no backup of them. Or have them imported to another browser?

I had backups

They too are empty. Opera was pointing to my desktop where the backup files were. I have opened them up and all book marks have gone

Oh so the backups have suffered the same fate as the ones you were using? That is odd....

Did you have the same bookmarks in another browser?

I find it very odd that the backups have been 'emptied' too... (for want of a better word)

Was it a stable version or beta?

That is very odd.

I've been using Opera for several years now, never had a prob.

The bookmarks file (bookmarks.adr) in Windows is in Documents and Settings/Your name/Application data/Opera.

I periodically back it up to another hard drive on the same machine.

This file transfers ok to Opera within Linux as well.

Within Linux I just use the export command to save the file to a place of my choosing (which I suppose I could do that way in Windows as well).

To lose the bookmarks file within Opera and from the backup location is very strange indeed. Just where was the backup file stored?
