I have now found the forum. My only question is, is it managed (MSDN
subscription)

That's a good question. However, there's a further complication:
Microsoft has decided that the NNTP forums are no longer appropriate for
MSDN. They have some kind of MSDN-specific web forum that they are now
using for managed discussions/questions.

So even for non-WPF stuff, the managed discussion is no longer done in the
same location as the public community discussion (IMHO a really awful and
counter-productive idea). It may be that as part of that change,
Microsoft provided a WPF-specific newsgroup for MSDN discussions as well,
even if the other public WPF web forum used to be used for managed MSDN
support.

All that said, one thing you could try is posting a WPF question here
using your MSDN-linked email address and see what the reply is. At a
minimum, I expect the MSDN support person to direct you to the new
web-based forums. It is possible that as part of that direction, they
will specify a WPF-specific newsgroup you can use.

I second your opinion. Is setting up a news account and using news client
software so difficult that MS has to push the web based forums? IME, about
90% of the questions posted to inappropriate groups come from people using
some kind of web interface and not paying attention/being confused by this
supposed convenience.

I'll admit to being an old f**t and set in my ways, but jeez!
