Where doex XP keep the form filler info, that drops down with
suggetions as to name, email address, street address...?

It couldn't all be in a cookie, because I'm talking about the info
that works from one webpage to another, so if you put your name in one
webpage the same name is suggested when you type the first letter in
another name box.

I especially want to know because yesterday one page saved my credit
card number, I think, and I want to delete it.

If you're using Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options > Content >
AutoComplete and under 'Settings' click 'Delete AutoComplete History'. If
'Forms' and 'Use names and passwords on forms' are checked, uncheck those.
Also delete your browsing history.

In other browsers there should be similar commands under 'Options' or the
like.

It's a browser feature, not a Windows feature. In IE, click Tools,
Internet Options, Content tab, AutoComplete button, and clear the forms,
etc.
