All I see here is questions. Where are the answers
Are you using the Expand All button on the web interface that you are using?
(Of course it is pointless asking this without also sending an Email
but the second poster didn't bother identifying who the first poster was
and the original Message-ID <
[email protected]>
is gone (e.g., not available on msnews or Google Groups)
so that's not possible.)
Have you tried researching your question using Google Groups search?
<
http://groups.google.com/ >
What is the question? Another thing which would have been possible if the
original poster's Email address were known would be to search for other posts
by the same user to find out what issue might have prompted this thread.
This would be useful for one common reason that posts remain unanswered:
nobody knows or there is insufficient information in the post to offer any effective
suggestions.
Too many questions, not enough answers.
The main reason there are some unanswered questions is that not enough
people try to do even the smallest amount of research. Often what
happens is that they post their question and then look for already
documented solutions; then they don't bother coming back to clean up
their threads to explain that they have found a solution. Rather than waste
time answering such questions too often people may just ignore such
posts.
They need to break this down into problem categories or something
that makes it more manageable and I think we'd be apt to see
more solutions being posted.
IMO the most useful category breakdown would be by OS.
Most users fail to disclose their OS which makes making suggestions
for diagnostics and repairs unnecessarily difficult.
It might also encourage more people to share their experience
knowing at least that the OS they were using would be a common factor
in their discussions.

but have a bit of tolerance if the answers don't meet your expectations.
All of us here are volunteers just trying to share our collective knowledege
and experience.

...Sorry I cannot help much, but I did want to call your
attention to 2 other "same probelm" postings, including
mine, after this that may lead to answers -- we'll see.
Let's keep an eye on each other. Thanks.
p.s. you're right about this newsgroup being frustrating.
Too many questions, not enough answers. I think it's
because it's too overwhelming (too busy). They need to
break this down into problem categories or something that
makes it more manageable and I think we'd be apt to see
more solutions being posted. Otherwise, potential problem-
solvers just avoid it all together.
