When typing text in Word/Outlook, my cursor randomly jumps to oth.

Sometimes when I am typing text in either Word or in composing an email in
Outlook, my cursor will spontaneously and randomly jump to an earlier point
in the sentence or paragraph---any idea on what is going on, or how I can fix
this problem? Thanks.
