What's a good color inket printer for 11" x 17" paper ?

I'm looking for recommendations (new or used) for an inkjet printer that can
handle 11" x 17" paper. I'm not necessarily looking for high speed or
photo-quality color, it's mostly for B size CAD drawings and line art, I'm
more interested in long-term reliability and low cost of consumables (and of
course low initial cost).

I've always been partial to Canon BJs for color inkjets, but I don't see
anything in their current lineup that mentions 11x17 paper. Are there any
recent Canon models that I should be looking for on the used market ?

11"x17" - or what we, in the UK, would call A3. Canon offer three A3 models;
the S9000, i6500 and the i9100.

Printers typically are 8 1/2 x 11, 13 x 19, or "really big"

Canon and Epson both have 13" wide models---don't remember if HP does.

If it just for CAD and stuff, then the HP 1220C is an excellent choice (or
it's successor). Don't know if it is still made, but there should be a
pretty large selection of used ones

The r800 is an a4 printer whereas the 1280 is a3, also the price of ink
cartridges for r800 are to be £18 each.

I'm not sure R800 is the 1280 replacement. Its print width is only
8.3", not 13". It takes pigmented ink (like 2200), not the dye ink
(like 1280.)

R800 has finer resolution (5760 x 1440, 1.5pico drop) than 2200 (2880
x 1440, 4 pico drop) and 4000 (2880 x 1440, 3.5 pixo drop).

Wonder if Epson will come up with a printer that has R800's resolution
and 2200's printing size.

Yes (Just my opinion)

The thing that intrigues me is will they abandon lt cyan and lt
magenta in everything--as they have in the R800
