I'm seeking advice for a printer to print CAD drawings in 13 x 19" (super B)
format as well as 11 x 17" format. It would be mostly black and white on
plain paper. Photo quality is not an issue.

I'm currently using an HP 1220C and it does fine when it works but the power
supply is starting to fail and I'd like to get a printer that was designed
after XP came into being.

I'm currently considering an HP Officejet Pro K850.
I welcome any suggestions or comments.

Thanks,

Jeff

A couple of years ago I picked up a used Canon N2000 for printing
colored renderings from Autocad files. It works great and is very
economical since I use compatible cartridges. I can swap out all four
cartridges for less than $80 and they are big for a printer of this
size. The colors ones are 80ml and the black is 130ml. Canon sells a
newer version of the N2000 called the imagePROGRAF W2200S. Here is a
link to Canon website: http://tinyurl.com/proyw

I normally only buy HP large format plotters but for the 13"x19" size
printer I would probably buy the Canon W2200S because it so economical
to operate. Plus, the print head on these units are rated at 50,000
copies minimum so they will last a long time. Another good thing about
them is they can have two paper trays.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out.
