What Virus Scans Work for Pre-RC1

Has anyone had a good experience with a Good Virus Scan for RC1 (pre)? I've
been using a free version, Avast, but when I upgraded to Pre-RC1, it seems
that it does not work as well.

Just wondering what is working.

I too used Avast prior to RC1 but due to the same issues I've installed AVG.
I don't like it's icon, in fact I hate it but it's free. How well it works?
Well, we'll see I guess but I'm not going to push it to see, lol!

Some protection is better than none at all!

Did you uninstall Avast before upgrading?
Then reinstall the latest version after the upgrade?
Some programs especially anti virus are best uninstalled during an operating
system upgrade.

I have not tried Avast on recent builds of Vista but AVG works fine.

I always check for the latest build.
AVG recently released a new build and the previous build would not install.

Avast does have problems with Pre-RC1 and RC1. I had to switch. Using
AVG for now.

My AVG is running okay. I've heard of this program for over a year now but
never tried it because I always had used Symantec. I wanted to see if there
was anything else out there before I tried AVG... then Tom recommended it.

Thanks
