What is WMS idle?

When I exit Windows I get a Program not responding message about WMS idle. I
think that this may also be causing me problems with Outlook and Outlook
Express. At times when I log on to my VPN and open Outlook, the password box
does not appear. Task Manager says that Outlook is running and is waiting a
response from me but nothing is happing in Outlook, it is just frozen with
the Outlook info box in the middle of my screen. When I ask for a re-boot
using Task Manager, the WMS idle box appears and as soon as I click End
Program, the password box appears. Since I have already ask Task Manager to
reboot, the password box is a little late to the party. At times I also have
problems with Outlook connecting to Word.

I already have Messenger disabled. Does disabling it make a difference on
its ability to still effect other programs?

Beats me. I've never encountered the error and I have the Messenger Service
disabled. Try enabling it and see if that affects the error.

I just tried that and still have the problem. Someone from Microsoft is
supposed to be calling me to try to solve this problem. I noticed on the
internet that others are having the same or similar problems and no one has
been able to come up with a recommendation.
