What is "char char" in a style name?

I have made some custom styles for certain reports. Lets say the name is
"Division". Then when I show "all styles", "available styles," whatever in
the "Styles and Formatting" task pane, I see "Division" at the appropriate
place in the list. BUT, if I open the organizer and look at the styles for
the document I see "Division" followed by "Division Char Char." What is the
Char Char variant? Why is it there? Is it trouble?
It only appears with a few of my custom styles.

Thanks, Jay. That worked great. I could remove all except the very first one
which seems to be named " Char Char1". Note the leading Space character. I
wonder if this was behind the weird behavior of one of the styles with a
hidden "Char Char" evil twin?

I don't have a document sufficiently messed up to try this (and I'm
not going to try to make one <g>). Does it not work to write the macro
with this line?

doc.Styles(" Char Char1").LinkStyle = styl

If that doesn't work, there may be a different way to write the macro
so you don't have to supply the name of the "Char" style -- post back
if you need it.
