WGA Error Log and WGANotify.settings in Windows Temp

For the past few days I've found these files in Windows | Temp, time-stamped
every boot. Never seen them before. Can someone tell me what they mean?
I've not installed any new applications in ages.
WGA ErrLog:

Thanks for the info. I take it there are really no "errors" here?
I'm embarrassed to confess that after posting my query, I remembered that I
had installed a tax software program just last week. I paid for it online
and received an unlock code to enable me to use it. Reading the Notify
settings, I hope that I won't be told after a few weeks that I'm not
authorized to use the program.

Thanks for the reassurance. I must still wonder why these Temp files are
repeated on startup with every day's new date.

I believe that WGA is tied in to the Windows Update Service. My thought is
that the WU will check with WGA first to see if you are authorized to get
updates - or something like that. In view of this, I would imagine that WGA
runs at each boot just to verify (again) that you are genuine. Why a
Registry entry couldn't be made is beyond me unless people could change it to
a fake positive for "genuine".

Cheers,

GP
