Weird problem

I have five current profiles on my WinXP. I left the computer on this morning
when I went to my P/T job. I left windows at the profile screen. When I went
to open my profile, I was asked for a password. I did not set my profile with
a pw. I went to open the other profiles and got the same response for a pw. I
rebooted the computer and fortunatley set it to enter my profile on bootup. I
went into system restore and set the clock back a week. When the computer
reset after the set back all of the profiles were responding normally. Has
anyone out there heard about this happening to them or anyone else. I am
going to run a thourgh Norton scan tonight to see if anything is picked up. I
am running Spyware Doctor also and that didn't pick anything up according to
the logs. Is someone or thing playing with my machine remotely? If there are
any answers to this weird occurance please let me know. I am feeling very
violated.

Hi Patrick,

I've seen a few systems do this, but apparently it's just a glitch. I
haven't found a singular cause, but rebooting is usually sufficient to
resolve it. It won't hurt to run a full scan with your AV and spyware
detection programs just to rule anything out, but you want to do it in Safe
mode, not normal mode to minimize interference and the possibility of any
malware masking itself from detection.
