Laptop-No Hardware Profiles displayed

I am trying to setup my laptop with multiple profiles. But whenever I went
to view and edit, there are no profiles listed. How do I create the initial
profile so that it can be edited and copied for additional profiles?

I have already searched all the help files including the link you supplied.
The problem is I have no Profile listed, so I can't copy or create another.

Go into Registry Editor (Start -> Run -> type regedit then press enter)
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles
Post back what is listed under that (should be something like 0000, 0001,
and Current)
If there is nothing there, or Current is missing then this is why you don't
see a hardware profile. If this is the case then hopefully you at least have
0001 (because then you might be able to use this to get your Current profile
back)

Thanks for the reply, but what I did was in the area where the profile is
supposed to be visible, I selected it anyhow and then renamed it. For some
reason it was blank. Then I was able to copy and create additional profiles.

That's interesting. I guess that just reinforces the idea of not overlooking
the simple things.
