Webcam probelm with Messanger 6.2

Hi,

I have a webcam which tests fine on the settings wizard,
but I am unabel to send a webcam to anyone, I get a
message saying that my webcam is not turned on or is used
by another program. This is in fact not true. The webcam
functions fine with any other program including
netmeeting. It is a generic cheap USB device.

Hi there.
I have had exactly the same problem except i am using a video camera that i
have installed and can see it in the tests and even through the yahoo tests
that i have done but for some reason when it comes to actually using it
properly it wont work.
Have you had any luck, please let me know, i am getting desperate!!!!

Do either of you have a firewall? If so see posts in
this group on opening the firewallwith UPnP.

Also, Netmeeting uses the older VFW format which most
webcams produce. If you are using Messenger's video
conferencing option rather than the Webcam option, the
camera's output format may not be suitable because it
does not produce the newer WDM [?] format.
