hi, I have a Logitech webcam/still camera connected as a webcam, and I just
purchased a mustek gsmart mini 3 digital camera with webcam capability. the
new digital camera has a terrible webcam setup compared to the Logitech
webcam, so I want to keep both, the Logitech for webcam and the mimi3 for
digital picture taking/downloading.

I believe both are fighting for the "Microsoft wdm image capture (win32)"
drivers. with windows and other generic 3rd party software I can pick
between the webcams and see what they're pointing at, but picture
acquisition is not working for the digital camera. what can I do?

Windows normally bounces between the 2 camera's. If your using yahoo
to camchat with your girlfriend and using that logitech camera to do
so, itll use that.
If you plug in your digicam at the same time to download pictures off
of it via your USB port it should do that just fine. If you have
software that you use for picture aquisition, like plugging in the
digicam to and having windows see through it and click a picture of
yourself, you might have to just change which camera said program is
using.

I thought as much, the software that came with the digital camera is rather
simplistic, it has no configuration tools what so ever. it just has GUI
buttons to download and delete photos off the camera. I have tried generic
software but so far I haven't found one that will read the camera. do you
know of any good generic software besides windows its self (it does take and
download pictures that I take using windows whilst the camera is connected
to the usb port, but windows doesn't detect the original shots I took off
line)
