Web Access Address Book

I am posting here as I think 'Contacts' is the most relevent topic area.
Working at client site, local email LAN - Lotus Notes (ugh!), therefore
connection to corporate via OWA. Current 2000 Exchange Server at corporate,
soon to upgrade to 2K3. Problem - All contacts recorded in Contacts, unless
actual members of corporate global address list (company employees) not found
when searching address list. Attempted both options in OWA options (search
contact list & search global address list first), neither work on local
contacts list. Entire global address list also unavailable, i.e, corporate
distribution lists. Any of these problems solvable? Is this a setting on
Exchange server or non-functional in OWA?

I attempted to but apparently the cross-post did not work as I thought it did.
