Unviewable Contacts in Address Book

When I create new contacts they do not show up in the Contacts list. If I
add a user from the Global Catalog list to my contacts, I can see those
Users. I can see the contacts if I open OWA. I have removed and re-added
the Outlook Address book. Closed email and restarted. I wonder if there is
an exchange Services or Setting I need to look at. Using Exchange 2k3 and
Outlook 2003.

Ok here is some more info. When in outlook and I click on address book.
Then click on show names in. I select Outlook address book, then sub folder
Contacts. I add new contact here. But after adding it doesn't show up. I
am able to login to OWA as user and see those contacts. Anyway I did a
couple more test and found that if you select or don't put anything in the
"Display name" field the contact is not viewable. So I edited in OWA and
added that field with email address and then went back in outlook and was
able to view the contacts.

That's because the Address Book interface isn't the correct interface for
manipulating Contacts. Add contacts in your Contacts folder, nowhere else.

I did add them from/to the contacts folder.

That's not what you said. You specifically said you went through the
Address Book interface. That's not the same thing. Were you inaccurate
then are you inaccurate now?

Ok maybe I am missing something. I click on Tools-Addressbook-select
contacts in left column. Do New entry- New Contact (In the contacts Folder).
Add the contact. Where or how else can you add a contact???

And as Brian said, that is NOT the way to add a contact. Do
File-New-Contact if you can't see your Contacts folder in the Outlook
pane....

Ok now I know what you are saying. The issue actually was that I couldn't
see the actually contacts. I could see the "contacts" folder. Example: I
create a contact "test" This user/contact doesn't show up under my contacts
folder. I could see the contact in OWA but not Outlook. So I noted that if
I didn't put anying in the display as field, the "test" user/contact would
not show in Outlook Contacts.

Also the "Addressbook" view only shows contacts that have an electronic
address (either email or fax) - it doesn't show contacts that only have (for
example) a mailing address....
