WD isn't removing PS GUARD, Zolob & Spyfalcon 2.0

WD does remove Zolob when I perform a scan and select remove, however it
always comes back straight away. Spyfalcon 2.0 I usually can get rid of by
uninstalling it from add/remove programs - but of course it comes back again
(but not as much as the zolob does.) Winfixer I think is another one that is
supposedly removed but comes back every time I reboot ( I think or if not it
does come back).

PS GUARD is not removable and it always comes up with error 0x80501001.
I've read on the other posts that this has something to do with the detected
file in a zip file or something like that - but I don't get it. WD only tells
me that the components they picked up were in the regkey and runkey( is that
in the same place as regkey/edit??).However I use another spyware thing
called Winantispyware 2005 (I hope it's a trusted program??) and it detects
some of the components in the system 32 folder (but not in a zip file or
anything)....I'm hoping someone know what I'm talking about?? should I try
going into safe mode to delete???

Hi Tyson,

I am afraid that it would appear that "Winantispyware 2005" is not what you
think it may be.

If you check this list:

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

you will see that this package appears to be associated with Winfixer which
is known Spyware.

For instructions on removing the various Spyware installations you appear to
have please check this site:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum55.html

There are links in this forum to comprehensive instructions on removing
various infections.

If you are unsure how to proceed please seek help before you remove anything
from your PC.

Kind Regards

Simon

Thanks simon and Engel for your replies. I'm just going to have to go through
all these informative avenues and see what I can do. I just can't believe it,
I paid $45 for that crap....lol. I'm tryign to stay positive. Well Hopefully
all the errors associated with WD is because of that other spyware program.
What's happenign with me now is that I'm getting links to download
Winfixer,Pesttrap abd Spyfighter...It's really annoying, and I, like
countless other people panicked and downloaded straight away.

I've been outta the loop with the current "going on's" in the computer
world for the last couple of years (I'm no expert, I just have a
intermediate/beginner understanding of the computer.) I didn't know spyware
existed until september of last year. Anywayz, is this forum alright to post

Hi,

Might I suggest that if you are not confident with following the posted
instructions then you seek the services of someone competent to help you?

No disrespect but if you have important work or data on your PC then seek
the help of your local friendly PC / Computer Technician and get them to
help you disinfect your PC.

Removing this malware is possible without reformatting (except in the worst
cases) and will save the work involved in a complete backup and rebuild of
your PC's

If you were living in West Wales, I would say contact me as I provide
exactly such services ;-)

However I am sure there are compitant folks in your area available either
free or as a commercial service who will be glad to help you.

Kind Regards
