I see that the final version of WD requires XP...what do we do if we use for
WD Final in Win2K?

Thanks in advance!

My system says:
Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1347.0

Engine Version: 1.1.1609.0

Definition Version: 1.14.1736.7

Since Defender now requires XP and Windows 2000 is no longer
supported, there is no final for Win2K.

Thank you, Stephen...so does that mean I am forced to ugrade to XP, or will
my current version of WD keep doing its job for my machine? Any
suggestions?

I believe that your current Windows Defender code will continue to function
through December. However, you will need to use a different antispyware
product thereafter. There are lots of good choices, I think--If this is a
personal system I'd look at AVG's antispyware offering, I think.
