Thanks Mucks but that just the point my pC's are are 24/7 and have been for 4 months now. As you knw I upgraded my main system to 4200 and took the 3200 out and put it in a brand new system. Now I would have thought that with the 4200x2 alone my points would have increased but they havent. The fact is that I have both of them on is a little concerning as my points don seem to have increased at all. I would think I be getting at least 2000points a day now?

I actually forgot you had upgraded ... afraid this old goat does that quite often.

i thought you were running BOINC

if you get BOINC running you can run 2 work units at a time which should bump your points up

Nope! you can't ... and it will actually reduce your proccessing power by 30%.

This is why everybody is going Boinc ... so they can use two core cpus.

The annoying thing about WCG is the information ... it's all over the place.

I remember reading all them Inhell HT CPU wallies asking if they can use both core ... well at the time Intel didn't have true duallies and UD seemed to work in that you saw it using them but in effect it wasn't.

Boinc is the only program that can use 2 or more CPUs ... and it isn't that hard to do ... but make sure you have a look at the stickies here, there is one on how properly to remove UD ... I found it simple just to remove it from the start-up folder.

Using the "tweaked" Boinc is a mater of once you have set-up Boinc, get the tweaked version and copy & paste ... Ady or V_R know exactly how and can better guide you.

You should really switch to BOINC,

Have a look at this thread and check out all the links there. Thats the best place to start and all the info's there to help you.

If you get stuck, start a new thread and either Ady or myself can guide you through the change over.

What I do find fascinating is the MJW pc holding it's own against Rush & Ian's two PCs (I think they have two each) ..

What I do find fascinating is the MJW pc holding it's own against Rush & Ian's two PCs (I think they have two each) ... but the secret there is the MJW pc is on 24/7, has been Bionicly tweaked & don't do nuffin but get updates for Windows.

Mine is more like 1.5 I've got the server in the spare room on 24/7, but my pc is on apart from when I'm sleeping (its too noisy and keeps me awake!).

Just take all the fans off that are not needed, mine only have the CPU fans & PSUs ... or be as deaf as I am.

Huh! what data? ... if you wait until you finish the WU you are doing nothing will be lost. If you do it anyway you'll only loose the one your working on.
