way to write an event when laptop goes to battery?

Greetings, sometimes when I come in in the AM, I find our servers have
been rebooted. Before I go out and spend some $$$ on a UPS, I'm trying
to determine if perhaps power to the whole place is going out, and if
so, when. I'm wondering if there is some way to get a laptop to write
an event to the event log when it switches to and from battery power.
In the meantime I'll plug in an old alarm clock :). Thanks.

Hi,

To start with all your servers should be on a UPS. If there is a power
outage the UPS' will bring down the servers properly, otherwise you
could./will have software and/or hardware damage. also the UPS will keep a
log of any power failures

I strongly suggest you invest your money into some UPS'. In the long run it
will be the best investment you ever made.

Thanks, I'm aware of all that and it will happen within the next couple
months. In the meantime, does anyone have an answer to my question?
Thanks

Look for Event 6009 if you want to see whether the server was restarted
intentionally
