Watch Blu-Ray on my computer?

A

Academia

I watch a DVD on my computer once (Shreck).
Don't know what program I used to watch it.
I have a Dell about 3-yrs old.
Can you guess what program it might have been?

Just tried to watch a Blu-Ray move and even My Computer couldn't show any
files.
Do you know why not.
Is there something I can do to watch Blu-Ray>

Thanks

A matter of hardware.

Your computer doesn't have a Blu-Ray drive. (and no, no amount of software
tinkering is going to allow your non Blu-Ray drive to read a Blu-Ray disc)

You of course have to install a blue-ray device...
they are as expensive as hell!

Blu-Ray, and HD, are newer formats of DVDs. Current DVD drives will
never read these formats. Break your "piggy banks" to purchase a Blu-
Ray drive (EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!)

No point in it when you're watching on a computer display.
Won't look significantly different on that small screen.

On your big flat panel in the living room it'll be worthwhile.

3 Year Old Dell. It doesn't have a drive (hardware) capable of reading
BluRay.

A number of combo models with read-only High Def from LG are available at
around $299.
