Want to start over........

My computer is majorly screwed up. I have lost several things like all my
games on the accessories menu come up 'missing shortcut' and my computer runs
really really slow. Every time is starts i get some sort of error message. My
mom has an old computer and has a way of dumping it to start fresh........
How can I do this. i have xp home edition sp2. I just want to start over like
the day I bought the computer I tried system restore but because i have tried
deleteing all the unneccary things already I do not have restore points
beyond a coupld months ago. Any ideas?

Your computer has a recovery DVD or a recovery partition, either of
which will erase your hard disk and reinstall the software that was on
the computer when it left the factory. Your computer's manufacturer can
show you how to use this function.
