Or is it because you are doing nasty things and SELMGR finds out that you
don't have components in the
upgrade that you had installed in the initial installation and because you
are a bad guy he sets the feature to
advertised? In that case you need to keep the component, put a condition to
the component that is allways
false and set the transient flag so that the condition is reevaluated during
upgrade and then the component is
removed.
