wake from hibernate loses internet

Hi,

When I restart my pc from hibernate mode, I can access the internet and
email for about 2 minutes then the connection is lost. I have to reboot to
get it going again.

This happens whether the wakeup is minutes, hours or even days after going
into hibernate.

I`m connected by cable modem through a BENQ router with only this pc on the
router.

Anyone know why this happens?

DHCP needs to get renewed?
What have you done to troubleshoot the issue besides reboot? Let us kow
what the results were.
