W3SVC Hangs when starting the service

After installing SP2 I have had some problems using IIS. The inetinfo svc
starts but the World Wide Web Publishing service hangs. I have tried
starting it manually and it will try to start but never does. I get an error
1053 telling me the service did not respond in the required time interval. I
have used Event Viewer but that is only telling me the same thing and that
the service is terminating unexpectedly. I have uninstalled the IIS files
and did a reinstall from the disk but no luck there. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

I wonder if the new DEP (Data Execution Prevention) in SP2 is the culprit?
Not sure but you might want to check it out...
