I recently was notified by Norton anti-virus that i had
the W32.Spybot.Worm on my PC. After looking on the
Symantec website for removal instructions, I thought i
had successfully dealt with it, but everytime i run a
system scan, it still finds 1 infected file. The trouble
is it will not remove the file, and when i search for the
file it doesn't appear to be there. It says it is
c:\windows\system32 and the file name is mswinn16.exe. I
have set my folders to show every file, but still doesn't
appear to be there. The only way i can see it's existance
is if i run a virus scan or click Start, Run, then type
mswinn16.exe. I then get the message "Windows cannot
acces the specified device, path or file. You may not
have appropriate permissions to access the item", so i
see it's there bu ti'm unable to access it to delete it.
I've removed references to it in the registry and ensured
that i was logged on as administrator, and tryed in safe
mode, but still no success in removal. What can I do ?
