W2K server + SBS 2000 fax receive keeps stopping

Hi,

W2K Server SP4 + SBS 2000 SP3 + USR Robotics 56K/v92 Message Modem
RS232 plugged into COM1 on a DELL server.

Server fax picks up after 1 ring. If this fails to pickup, a paper
fax on the same line picks up after 4 rings (as a backup).

Problem - W2K fax service sends faxes internally to (e-mail address removed)
destined for the users Outlook inbox and this works fine for a few
days then stops receiving faxes. Additionally, the MS Shared Fax
settings keep getting reset. I can't explain what's going on and I
have to keep applying the settings.

When the settings are lost, the ext. fax/modem also 'grabs' the line
and prevents the paper fax from picking up.

We have changed the fax/modem & PSU for another new USR model. Same
issue.

Any ideas welcomed.

Need a lot more details on the configuration. We are not
able to understand whether there are two boxes - one with
SBS 2000 Shared Fax. Also, is email routing the problem?
Which settings are getting reset?
