W2K Pro --> XP....help!!!!!!!

Help! I need BASIC help here. In fact, I should probably
find a website that is meant for absolute beginners. Any
suggestions?

My main concern right now is that I want to install XP. I
have Windows 2000 Professional running now (a friend
installed it for me) and I want to change to XP. I have
the XP CD. Do I just put in the CD and let it run, or is
there tons of other stuff I have to do first?

AAAAAAGH! Your help is MUCH appreciated!
