VX2

Paul

Just downloaded and ran the Beta. It removed quite a bit
of junk but failed to detect or remove the version of VX2
infecting my computer. Any news on updating
detection/removal tools?

Thank you.

Run a goggle search on VX2. I found a site that offered
a free VX2 removal program. It is a pain to remove but
very nice whne it is gone. Good luck

If this anti-spyware program of Microsoft's won't remove
VX2 and every variant of CoolWebSearch, it isn't worth a
damn.

What's REALLY ridiculous, though, is that Windows is so
full of holes that it allows VX2 and CoolWebSearch to be
installed in the first place.

So much for Microsoft's "security initiative".

MSAS, like your anti-virus application, depends on definitions to find and
help you remove the Bad Guys. /None/ of the currently available
anti-malware tools can keep up with the always-morphing, latest variants of
VX2 and CWS hijackers, Cobol, let alone remove them.

VX2 and CWS infect your machine by /your/ actions, not due to any 'holes' in
Windows, I'm afraid.

So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
