VST Plug-ins for Ableton Live Lite 4

I have just acquired a Behringer UMX 61 midi controller keyboard and I need
to download VST plug-ins. I can download them OK but I cannot get them into
Live lite. I have used the correct path so I can only assume that I have
downloaded them into the wrong file. Can anyone please tell me the correct
procedure as if I am starting from scratch?
