VPN has stopped working

After a long time with no VPN problems it's all stopped
working some time in the last week!

I go "Start->network Connections->VPN" press the button
on my mouse and nothing happens.

If I open "Network Connections" and right click and
select properties on the VPN connection nothing happens.

If I open "Network Connections" and select "Create a new
connection", select "next" I cannot select any option and
go Next!!!

But if I load Internet Explorer ans select Tools from the
menu bar and "Internet Options" select the "connections"
TAB and then Setup, I can configure new network
connections. But they still do not work.

All other networking is working I can connect to other
machines on my local network and I can access the
Internet.

Anybody got and ideas?

That's a wierd set of circumstances!

If you go to a command prompt, and do:

sc queryex rasman <enter>

what's the result--is rasman running--what error code if not.

Anything odd in the time since this worked--used System Restore?

Hi Bill,

Thanks for responding, I've spotted nothing odd since I
last remember making a VPN connection. I've installed a
new sound card and thats about it reconfiguration wise.

results of query follows.

e:\>sc queryex rasman

SERVICE_NAME: rasman
TYPE : 20 WIN32_SHARE_PROCESS
STATE : 4 RUNNING

(STOPPABLE,NOT_PAUSABLE,IGNORES_SHUTDOWN)
WIN32_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
SERVICE_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
CHECKPOINT : 0x0
WAIT_HINT : 0x0
PID : 720

I'm stumped--the Rasman thing was unlikely, I'm afraid.
Consider doing a System Restore to a point before you put the Sound card in?
Maybe it is something about the drivers for the card?
