vpn connection

I have a windows xp laptop. When I log on at work I have access to all of
the network drives. However when I logon to my vpn connection at home, I
have access to the internet and exchange but not the shared drives.

In explorer I have to specify the ip address, it then asks for a username
and password. If i specify the username and password I logged on with it
does not work, but if I specify any other username and password it does
work.

Any help would be much appreciated

you may need to use domainname\blin format to access the domain resource. This search result may help,

vpnbrowsing issuesTo do this, you need to find the IPs by double-clicking the VPN connection icon>Details. ... Then use net use command to map the remote computer. ...
