VPN Connection Problems

I connect to a VPN from hiome at my work. I am running Windows XP Pro. I
use a Cisco VPN client to connect and then run a batch record to connect to a
direct IP address. Suddenly I cannot connect to my network dries at work.
The VPN connects but I cannot ping the IP address. This occured around the
time I fixed my internet connection problems using Winsockfix. Could this
have changed a registry or something that keeps it from connecting?

Thanks
