VPN and user Authentication

Hi, please bear with me as I am pretty new at
administration of a w2k LAN.

We use a Sonicwall firewall and a VPN client provided with
the unit, I can connect just fine and DHCP/DNS seem to
work great. I can browse the entire network via NETBIOS
names with no problems.

However, I am confused about how to authenticate a user.
Everyone connected through it appears to be on as Guest
and I'm unsure how to get into folders with permissions
set. How do I get Windows 2k to know what user is coming
through the tunnel?

TIA!

Disable the guest account. I am guessing you are not in a domain.
Then assuming you are not in a domain , add user accounts/passwords to the
servers sharing files via Computer Management. A user will need to log onto
the client [not sure about SW client configuration] with user name/password
that matches user name/password on the server or they will be prompted to
enter user name/password to access the share on the server. --- Steve
