Voting Buttons in a Peer to Peer Network

We run in a P2P network, no exchange server, and have been successfully using
Voting Button from and to Office 2000 & Office XP.

With more PC's being added to our network, we have bought more licences for
Office (specifically Office 2003).

Yesterday I discovered that the message I was sending with Voting Buttons
weren't visible by people using Outlook 2003 - It seems that MS have decided
to make this facility ONLY available if an Exchange Server is detected.
!!!!!!!! Not Happy Jan!

Note that Outlook 2003 users can still send messages with Voting Buttons,
and they can be successfully seen and used by Office 2000 & XP, but not
anothe Outlook 2003 PC.

This is obviously a ploy by MS to sell more Exchange licences - which is
hardly practical in a small network!! - Apart from asking MS to play fair for
the little guys, is there any other option (Yes, I know I coud install
Outlook XP, but I don't really wanna go backwards!)

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Are you sure the messages being sent to the OL2003 users are in Rich Text
format? And that the OL2003 users don't have it set to convert the messages
to plain text?

They are still in rich text - coloured & different fonts, etc - no conversion
taking place. Nice try!

Take a chill pill dude . If you don't like MS then use a different product.
Or better yet, suck it up and use pencil and paper.

colored fonts doesn't equal rich text. HTML also has colored fonts. Check your settings in Tools | Options | Mail Format | Internet Format and also double-click each email address to make sure it's set for rich-text.
