When I play an audio or video file, the sound starts out too low. Doesn't
matter which player I used (have tried 4 and they all behave the same). If I
adjust the volume via the speakers, it goes up and down, but it is still too
low relative to what it's supposed to be. The same thing if I adjust via the
volume slider of the program. If I then adjust the position within the file
via the position slider, the volume jumps up to the correct level and stays
there. This is very strange behavior.
Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Any idea how to fix? I don't know
where to begin troubleshooting something like this.
I am running xp pro with a soundblaster audigy card. It used to work just
fine. Any suggestions are appreciated.
