Visual C++ Runtime Libary "Runtime Error"!

B

Ben.

I have used Movie Maker 2 without problems in being able
to capture video but now when I go through the process
everything goes fine in setting up (1) Video Capture
Device ,(2) Video Captured File and (3) Video Setting but
when I click on next I get a:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libary "Runtime Error"!
Program: C:\ Program Files\ Movie Maker\moviemk.exe and
states that "This application has requested Runtime to
terminate it in an unusal way.

Please contact the application's support team for more
information. OK"

When you click on OK the program closes.

I am using a P4 2.0Ghz , 756 MB of DDR2700 ram , ATI All
in Wonder 8500DV on Windows XP pro.

Drivers are the latest and XP updates are current.

I would appreciate any help offered on how to solve this
problem. What is the best way to contact "the
application's support team"?

Ben.

For capture issues, if it's a digital camcorder you are working with, see
the DVIO utility link on the Camcorders... General page.

I haven't tried Stephen's approach, but don't see any problems doing it if
you have the computer skills. But, that would assume your issue is with
Movie Maker, which it might not be..

Ben,

I don't do analog capture, so all I have to offer are the notes in the
Analog Video Capture section of my website.

MM2 works so closely with other XP software modules that, from the users
perspective, it would be MM2. But yours seems like an issue that may be a
bit deeper. It wouldn't hurt removing MM2 and reinstalling it, and might
help.

Your post here is the best way to contact the Movie Maker team at Microsoft,
unless you want to use their pay-per-service type support. Sending the error
info to Microsoft via that little wizard, if it gives you the option, will
help too - especially if the link in the submittal process gives you
specific help on the item - if it's a know issue, it would do that.

Hopefully others will help.

I am
trying to capture from VHS tapes and TV.

Have you tried visiting ATI's site to see if there is an updated driver
and/or multimedia center download available?

Have you tried capturing using ATI's capture program? You can probably
import from that into MM.
