Vista Windows mail deleted items messages hidden

My deleted items folder shows over 3000 messages in it. However, when I view
the folder, the folder appears empty. How do I view the messages?

While viewing that folder, be sure you have "Show All Messages" selected
rather than "Hide Read Messages".

I am having a similar problem. The file shows >1000 deleted messages, but I
cannot empty the deleted file folder, as it comes up with an error message.
No files show in the display, even after I send other e-mails to deleted
file. when I exit from Windows mail, I get a message asking if I want to
compact the database, if I select "yes" then windows mail stops working. I
think this problem initially started when I tried to compact the messages a
few weeks ago. The logo next to the deleted file folder is different from
the other type of file types, ie it is not coloured yellow, but is coloured
white & blue. Can anybody provide a solution?

party interference with WinMail's operations. You might also try compacting
and repairing the database with my Windows Mail utility:
