Vista Updates keep reinstalling

I have only had Vista a few days and I am constantly getting updates to
install. I have now 4 instances of MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978),
the exact same update 4 times, 2 instances of MSXML update, 2 instances of
Update for Windows Vista (same number for update), this just keeps happening
over and over - is this normal or is it happening to anyone else. Found this
info in "Review your update history" because of the constant updates and
seemingly same updates. Appreciate any info.
Thanks, Darlene

Hello Darlene7 ,

For a resolution, regarding the Update Error, open Vista's Help and Support,
and then (in the Search Field) type; - Update Error -.

When the Search results are displayed, simply follow the instructions as
needed for your specific Error for the resolution.

Vista's Help and Support, and the "Start Search" Field, immediately above
Vista's Start Button, will be your best friend if ever conflicts arrive at
your Desktop.

Unfortunately I do not see anything in the help list that pertains to
this problem which I share. I have installed the updates three times
and the update message just won't go away. I hesitate to try the
suggestion of the other poster as it does list itself as pertaining to
vista.

I'm having a problem with these updates also, but in my case after I install
the updates, my pc locks up & won't reboot. If I shut the power off & turn
it back on, I can go into safe mode & restore back before the update
installation, making it so I can boot up in normal mode. Then I'm told I
need the updates again. I've tried 3 times with the same results.
