vista uninstallation

Steven Wabik

i did a dual boot between xp and vista. i removed vista rc1 for now because
i am not interested in it at this time. i also got rid of it so i can merge
the vista and xp partitions together. now that vista is gone, the vista
bootloader does not appear, yet the files from it still seem to be on the
drive in the dirrectory "C:\boot". for some reason i can not get rid of this
folder and its contents. can someone please help me with this.

You might try VistaBootPro (www.vistabootpro.org) Download the software and
install it on XP. An option will come up for you to run it along with other
bootloader applications (i forget the exact wording) select to run
alongside. Once installed run VistaBootPro. In the VistaBootPro window click
the bootloader tab and then click the radio button next to the 'uninstall
the vista bootloader (used to restore legacy OS) option and then press
Apply.

It would have been better if you had done this first before removing Vista.
This is the option i have used preveiously when removing older Vista builds
from my dual boot machine and it has always been effective.

give it a try and see if that removes the vista bootloader files.
