Vista search function lacks date window

I frequently have to report numbers of files on my LAN created between two
dates. Under Windows XP, the search function under Windows Explorer allowed
one to search for files created between two dates.

Now, under Vista (Business Edition), I have to do two searches and subtract
the results to get the number I need. Very Inconvenient.

For me, Vista Search is a step backwards. Any plans to reinstate the date
window?

It's there, only in a different form. The following query should do what you
need:

created:>6/1/2007 AND created:<6/4/2007

Read http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb266512.aspx for more details
on Advanced Query Syntax. Or you can try Natural Query Syntax. To enable it,
open Start->Search, Alt to show the toolbar, Tools->Folder Options->Search,
check "Use natural language search". Then you can run a query like this:

created after 6/1/2007 and before 6/4/2007

Thanks,
Ilia
