Properties for multiple files

S

Snowman

Back in good 'ol XP, when you right-click after selecting multiple files, you
could go down to "Properties" and see how much space those selected files and
folders were taking up. This isn't possible with vista. And there shouldn't
be "oh but you need this version of vista" because I have vista ultimate.

You don't need to do any right-clicking and properties.. The size of files
selected appears at the bottom of the Explorer Window.....

It will show you the file size in the Details Pane at the bottom.
If you don't see the Details pane, click on
Organize - Layout - Details Pane

It will only show you the total of the actual files in the area. It won't add
up the amount of files inside the folders that you have selected. for
example, if you select all in "*user*" file, and there are a few songs, some
word documents and folders that contain video files, it will add up the total
of the music and document files in that area and show you in the details
panel but won't include the files in the folder that has the video's. In
windows XP, when you right-click and go to properties for multiple objects,
it gives you a total read-out
