Vista Repeatedly Fails to Start

Steve

I am running Vista Home Premium on a new 2-week old Dell. Several times
Vista has failed to start. Sometimes I just get a black screen. Other times
I get the "Windows failed to start" message and have to go through a system
recovery. Other times it seems to start ok but the screen resolution and
other settings have changed. What is going on and what can I do to get out
of this situation?

Thanks for any help.

Most people would have been on the phone with Dell by now.

It is under Warranty.
But, have you gone to Dell's website, and downloaded updated Drivers for
your computer; especially the Graphics Card

Don't mess about with it! Clearly it is not fit for purpose and you must
contact Dell - it's their problem. If you try to fix it yourself, you are
giving them ammunition to blame you for breaking it.
